Meet the Board of Governors

Paul Ekeocha - Founder, CEO, Executive Director, Chairman & Regional Director, British Columbia (Boys & Girls)

  • Coach Paul is a man of many talents and experiences. His love for basketball, grassroots and athlete development are endless. His basketball experience as a coach spans over 22 years, with stops at the high school, provincial, national and pro level. He is the Founder & President of F.O.R.M. Basketball Academy and is currently in his 4th year as the assistant coach with the University of Windsor men's basketball program. Coach Paul's vision is based around youth, student-athletes and athlete growth, guidance and mentoring, as players strive to establish themselves on and off the court - both in basketball and in life.

Brandon Brock - COO, Executive Vice-President, & Executive Governor

Coach Brandon has spent time coaching all over Canada with his latest experiences being in Alberta. Currently Brandon is in his fifth season as an Assistant Coach with the Men's Team at the University of Alberta. Brandon's decade of coaching experience spans the school, club, provincial, and professional levels. In his day job, Brandon works as the Director of Training and Development at Free Play for Kids in Edmonton. His passion for basketball and coaching led him to finishing his Masters of Coaching from the University of Alberta where he focused on contemporary approaches to understanding learning, retention, and transfer for athletes. This experience helps him support ethical athlete development in environments that are fun and challenging.

Abdell Farag - CFO, Executive Governor & Regional Director, Alberta (Boys & Girls)

Coach Abdel is a very passionate basketball coach with many years of experience training, competing and coaching provincially and nationally. He is currently in his 2nd year as the President of Operations at Gotham Hoops and in his 8th year as an assistant coach with the St. Mary's University men's basketball program (Calgary). Coach Abdell's vision is to encourage and support the development of our youth's physical and mental health, as well as their future goals through the sport of basketball.

  • Planning & execution AB Hoops Summit
  • Corporate & company sponsorship, partnerships and stakeholder procurement across provinces

Donovan Wright - Executive Governor & Regional Director, Ontario (Boys & Girls)

Farley "Flex" Nwaigbo - Executive Governor & Regional Director, Atlantic Canada & Quebec

Dr. Duriell Bernard - National Director of Sports Science, Player Health/Safety, Functional Body Movements & Rehabilitation

Dr. Bernard is very passionate about two things: sports science/med and basketball. He takes an evidence based, functional and rehabilitative approach to therapy, utilizing a wide variety of soft tissue therapies (myofascial cupping, ART and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Therapy -also known as Graston Technique), exercise based therapies, and electro-modalities to achieve optimum results. Dr. Bernard was a former basketball and track & field standout in his high school days. He also was a Provincial basketball player for 2 years. 


Roles at CHC:

  • Player body functionality and movement
  • Prehab & rehab of players at CHC competitions
  • Medical guidance & care (Eg: injuries, dehydration, etc.)
  • Grants Royal Assent for all CHC event schedules from a player & team safety standpoint

Scotty Vasconcelos - Operations Coordinator (Central & East) & Alternate Governor

Roles at CHC: 

  • Coordination of regional summits in the central and eastern regions
  • Summit timelines and schedule adherence 
  • On-site security & safety for athletes, coaches and attendees
  • Special projects within the community and national ecosystem

Linda L. - Director of Communications, Media, Public Relations & Legal Affairs

Roles at CHC: 

  • All public and media communications, relations, approvals and legal affairs
  • Media, videographer, photographer assistance & assignment in coordination with TJ Mix Productions - all media/media pass requests can be directed to: canadahoopscircuit@gmail.com
  • Contracts, agreements and communications between CHC and its sponsors, donors, partners, stakeholders, etc.
  • Summit & Nationals online registration, information and adherence
  • Summit & Nationals on-site receivership and registration
